The NEET 14–17-year-olds we are involved with have left school because school is a damaging, racist system. These students have ambitions and dreams. They seek an environment in which they can flourish.
We provide a safe, positive, supportive environment based on strong, trusting relationships. We have relied on word-of-mouth referrals. This has ensured that ‘new’ students have connections to existing students. We plan to expand our referral network to include sport coaches and churches. We have demonstrated on multiple occasions to our youth that we have their back when they have problems with the police, at work, or at home.
